What should I wear to physical therapy?
Please wear clothing that you are comfortable in and allows you to move easily.
What should I expect at my first visit?
Initial evaluations are 60 minutes one on one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Evaluations include a thorough discussion about your past medical history, discussion about your current pain or problem that is bringing you in, a physical examination to determine the root of your pain/dysfunction and creation of a collaborative treatment plan.
Do you accept my insurance?
Better Together Physical Therapy, LLC is an Out of Network Provider for all insurance companies. Payment is due at the time of services by check, cash or by credit card, HSA debit cards. Please check with your insurance company to inquire about your Out-of-Network benefits.
The traditional insurance model prevents us from giving you the best possible treatment. The Out-of-Network provider structure allows us to provide you with highly personalized care without focus on insurance regulations and wasted time. You will have your therapist’s undivided attention, never have treatment by aides or assistants and you will never have surprise bills for services. This model ultimately results in fewer visits, faster outcomes and decreased overall cost of co-pays and unnecessary visits.
Do you accept Medicare?
Unfortunately, no. Better Together Physical Therapy, LLC is an Out of Network Provider and Medicare makes it illegal for us to treat patients with Medicare, even if they want to pay out of pocket. We are happy to help you find a provider.
Do I need a referral for Physical Therapy?
No. Massachusetts is a direct access state which means that you do not need a physician to refer you to physical therapy services. However, some insurance companies require a referral to approve reimbursement to you for PT services. Please contact your insurance company determine their regulations.
How long are appointments?
Evaluations and follow-up treatment visits are 60 minutes.
How long after having a baby do I need to wait to start physical therapy?
If you are seeking pelvic floor physical therapy, it is recommended that you wait until you are 6 weeks postpartum or are cleared by your medical provider. You are welcome to call and schedule ahead of time so that you can start treatment at 6 weeks. If you are experiencing other symptoms postpartum and would like help, please feel free to contact us and we can help guide you.
What is the cancellation policy?
We require that you cancel your appointment at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled visit via phone or email. If you do not come to your appointment or cancel within 24 hours , you will be charged a $90 cancellation fee.
